MODIS Active Fire Mapping

Click on this image to go to the Modis Active Fire Mapping website. The MODIS Active Fire Mapping Program provides a near real-time geospatial overview of the current wildland fire situation at regional and national scales. Locations of current fires and the extent of previous fire activity are ascertained satellite imagery acquired by the MODIS sensor. These fire data are integrated with various sources of contextual spatial data and information in a suite of geospatial data and mapping products.

Secondary Base Series Maps

Click on the image to go to the Secondary Base Series Maps website. The Secondary Base Series (SBS) map is a raster image of the USDA Forest Service intermediate scale (usually 1:126:720) map that covers all or part of a National Forest or National Grassland. Forest Visitor Maps are constructed by Forest Service Regional Offices from the SBS base layers.

FSTopo or Primary Base Series (PBS) Maps

Click on the image to go to PBS or SES Maps website. FSTopo or PBS are 1:24,000 scale topographic maps. They are available in two formats; Geo-enabled PDFs containing all the collar information; and Geotiffs that contain both collar and non collar editions in a single zipped file. The FSTopo maps replace the old PBS Softcopy fromerly available from this site.
