Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow

Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow

Marines introduced local at-risk students to decision making and leadership skills during the Marine Week Cleveland Leadership Academy conference. The weeklong leadership academy included field trips, lectures and a visit by the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James F. Amos, who encouraged the students to have a vision of what they want to do in life.

"We're looking for leaders, those individuals who will make the right decisions when no one is watching."

—Gen James F. Amos, CMC

Rebuilding Communities Everywhere

Rebuilding Communities Everywhere

Acknowledging cultural differences, special female engagement teams (FET) were deployed to Helmand Province in Afghanistan to build relationships with the women in the community. While there, the Marines were able to further peacekeeping efforts and provide the groundwork for building critical schools and clinics.

Commitment to Being Quality Citizens

Commitment to Being Quality Citizens

Marines are committed to being leaders in their communities and the world while in the Corps and thereafter. After leaving the Corps, Jake Wood worked with William McNulty, another former Marine, to found Team Rubicon—a unique disaster response organization that unites skilled veterans with medical professionals to respond to emergency crisis situations around the globe.
