Whidbey Basin

Published Nov 1, 2010

The goal of this project is to collect the physical, environmental, and biological data to determine the biological distribution and diversity of aquatic species and their habitats and to identify gaps in the distribution and protection of these species. The Whidbey Basin is a relatively isolated basin within Puget Sound and supports over 200 species of fish and other commercially significant invertebrates.  Industrial, agricultural and municipal development has significantly reduced the habitat available to keep these common aquatic species common in the Whidbey Basin.
