About NCUA
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is the independent federal
agency established to serve, protect, and promote a safe, stable national system
of cooperative financial institutions that encourage thrift and offer a source
of credit for their members. NCUA administers the National Credit Union Share
Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), which insures the deposits of more than 94 million members.
