General Project Description
Pavement reconstruction, rehabilitation, and resurfacing for approximately 1.2 miles of the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway from Beach Drive to the P Street Bridge. This work includes aggregate base, Superpave asphalt concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, steel backed timber guardrail, lighting, and other miscellaneous work.
Design/Construction Schedule:
Construction/Traffic Control will take place over 7 phases. Phase 1 and Phase 2 involve the reconstruction of the intersecting roads Shoreham Drive, Cathedral Avenue, and the Rock Creek Parkway. Phase 1 work began on November 15, 2010. When Phases 1 and 2 are complete, Shoreham Drive and Cathedral Avenue will be fully opened to traffic. Any motorists travelling through this work area should expect to be delayed.

This project was awarded on August 11, 2010. Â Construction began November 15, 2010. Expected completion is summer 2013.
