I am a strong supporter of our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, and I oppose attempts to restrict the ability of law-abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional rights. In the Nebraska Legislature, I earned an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association and cosponsored and helped to pass the Conceal Handgun Permit Act, which allows law-abiding Nebraskans to carry concealed weapons. I was also an introducer of the Hunter Mentoring Bill in 2008, which broadened Nebraska's hunting laws to encourage more participation by young people.
