Core center grants (P30)
A Core Center (P30) grant creates an identifiable organizational unit, directed by a principal investigator, to support centralized resources and facilities (“research cores”) shared by investigators with existing funded R01 research projects in NIDCD mission areas. The overall goal is to enrich ongoing research by using the P30 to increase the effectiveness, capabilities, or productivity of current projects; to stimulate cooperative approaches; and/or to promote new research directions through multi-disciplinary or regional collaborations.
