Description

The Information Resource Center (IRC) is part of the U.S. Consulate General and provides information about the United States in different areas of expertise. The IRC offers full research, reference and documentation services on American policies, procedures, people, and institutions.

The Center aims to serve public administrations, private institutions, non-governmental organizations, journalists, academicians, researchers, students, companies and professionals whose responsibilities and interests are in the fields mentioned below. An information specialist will attend your information requests by telephone, fax and/or e-mail. The Center is accessible by appointment only.

The Information Resource Center gives information about the following specific subject areas related to the United States:

  • U.S. Politic, Society and Culture.
  • Legislation and Regulation.
  • Economy and Commerce.
  • International Relations, Security and Defense.
  • Civil Society and Human Rights.
  • Environment and other topics related to Health.

Collection

The Information Resource Center includes an up-to-date reference collection (encyclopedias, directories, yearbooks, handbooks), government documents and think tanks reports. The IRC also subscribes to a group of interesting periodicals published in the U.S., and has a powerful set of electronic databases online.
