The 50th Space Wing Public Affairs' mission is to engineer change through sharing leadership's key messages with Airmen and family members, the local community and the news media.

· News - Shares key messages with Airmen and family members both on and off base through Schriever's base newspaper, the Satellite Flyer and through Schriever's public Website.

· Media Relations - Disseminates key messages about Schriever's mission and accomplishments to the news media.

· Community Relations - Informs members of the local community and visitors of the wing's mission through base tours and speaking engagements.
tabBase Bulletin 
The base bulletin is provided for the Schriever Air Force Base community and features items of interest to base personnel.

Base bulletins must not contain solicitations or advertisements that are not in accordance with DOD instruction 5120.4, para. E3.1.4. This includes promotion or endorsement of any political, financial, commercial or non-governmental agency.

Approval: The approval of a base bulletin is at the discretion of the 50th Space Wing Legal, Marketing and Public Affairs offices.

Circulation: If approved, base bulletins will appear in the Schriever Sentinel newspaper Thursdays, on Schriever AFB's public website, www.schriever.af.mil, Wednesdays, and sent out via base-wide email Wednesdays.

Submission: The cut-off date and time for a bulletin to appear is 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Period of circulation: Any bulletin submitted for an event more than two weeks away from the bulletin's publish date will be discarded and a separate bulletin must be submitted each week.

Format: Base bulletins will be formatted according to the Air Force Journalistic style as well as Associated Press style.

Security: Any government e-mail addresses added to the bulletin body will be removed in print.

The 50th Space Wing Public Affairs office conducts tours for military groups whose visit fills a mission requirement and civic leader groups that want to learn more about what space-based capabilities the 50th SW delivers to warfighters.

The Public Affairs office will not conduct tours for individuals or families or for groups of more than 40 people. ROTC detachments and other student groups will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To request a tour, download the Community Relations Tour Request form. You can fill out the form electronically and send it via e-mail to 50swpa.workflow@us.af.mil, or you may fill it out by hand and fax it to the PA office at 719-567-5306.

To be approved, tour request forms must include an attachment listing the full names and Social Security numbers of the visitors attending. Fax the list to 719-567-5306.

PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT:
Authority: 10 USC 8013 and 5 USC 552
Purpose: To ensure that visitors to Schriever Air Force Base do not pose a threat to the security or safety of the base.
Routine Use: To conduct National Criminal Information Center background checks for visitors to the installation.
Disclosure: Voluntary. However, failure to disclose names and Social Security Numbers will result in your tour request being disapproved.
