Walk-in services are from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, except on Malaysian and American holidays. Please bring two forms of identification to facilitate entrance to the embassy. One ID will be kept with the security gate.

All applicants for U.S. passports must apply in person. The U.S. Consulate can neither receive applications nor return passports by mail.

Consular Reports of Birth are available by appointment only. E-mail KLACS@state.gov and put "CRBA" on the subject line and include your name and local contact number in the body of the e-mail.

An appointment signifies the time when an applicant should appear at the Embassy entrance for security screening. Applicants should plan to spend at least an hour or so at the Embassy.

Security at the Consular Section

All official facilities are mandated to use access control procedures for all visitors and their handbags and packages. No luggage, electronic or photographic equipment is permitted in our waiting room or on other Embassy premises.
