Gender Diversity Specialist Discusses, “Why Advancing Women is Good for Business”

Anne Weisberg, a specialist in the field of diversity, gender and work/life integration, discussedwhy advancing women is good for business with over 300 management students of the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai on February 6, 2013.  Ms. Weisberg is the Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer at The Future/Work Institute, a New York based global consulting firm that translates future trends to transform organizations.  During the discussion, she said that while great strides have been made, gender inequality remains a significant challenge across every development initiative worldwide.  While referring to various case studies, she cited the benefits of investing in women and reiterated that more women should take leadership roles because women possess a much higher sense of risk control than men.   Ms. Weisberg encouraged the students to work toward improving the status of women in the workplace and beyond.
