Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits India, May 6-8, 2012
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited India making stops in Kolkata and New Delhi. In Kolkata, the Secretary met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, state officials and other civil society organization representatives. She also took time to visit the historic Victoria Memorial. In New Delhi, she met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna, leader of opposition party Sushma Swaraj and Indian government officials to review progress in the strategic partnership, looking forward to the U.S.-India Strategic Dialogue to be held in Washington, D.C. on June 13.

A day in Old Delhi
April 10, 2010: Ambassador Roemer continued to improve his acquaintance with his host city as he took a tour of Old Delhi. Ambassador and Mrs. Roemer paid homage at the Jama Masjid, revered the famous old Jain Temple in the Kinari Bazar, tried delicacies of the renowned Paratha Wali Gali and shopped in the streets of Chandni Chowk.

Ambassador Roemer's visit to Bhubaneswar
April 7-8, 2010: Ambassador Roemer experienced the rich cultural heritage of Orissa during his travel to Bhubaneswar. He met many people, saw firsthand a water distribution project supported by USAID, interacted with basketball teams, shot hoops in KIIT University, tried his hand at stone carving, visited the famous Lingaraja Temple, and visited a tribal museum.
