Columbus Day holiday celebrated in the North
On October 11, 2012 the U.S Embassy organized a two hour session marking the Columbus Day holiday at the Garoua American Corner. The event brought together fifty students and teachers from Government Bilingual High School and Premier International Complex.

US Embassy Holds Journalism Documentary Screening in Garoua
As part of its effort to promote journalistic excellence in Cameroon, the Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Yaounde organized the screening of “The Agrononimist,”a documentary about prominent Haitian journalist, Jean L. Dominique. The film was viewed by an enthusiastic crowd of 30 journalists, civil society activists, teachers and students in Garoua on August 27, 2012.

English club activities at the American Corner Garoua
Learning English is a core activity for American corner Garoua. From March 10 - June 16, 2012, the corner has been engaged in English language learning and developing the culture of reading. This has brought together about 110 participants including teachers, students and the local community to share activities to improve their language skills.
