Information Resource Center
The Information Resource Center (IRC) is part of the Public Affairs Section of the American Consulate General. It is not a common library but a digital resource center that provides specialized, substantive and accurate information about the United States with emphasis on U.S. government policies and U.S. bilateral relations. It serves Brazilian institutions, Consulate staff, researchers, government officials, journalists, providing specialized, substantive, and accurate information about the United States, with emphasis on U.S. government policies and U.S.-Brazil bilateral relations.
Among the special services of the Information Resource Center to select users are bibliographies and other items produced to support American Consulate programs such as lectures, conferences, seminars, etc. It also provides information on subjects related to USA to important Brazilian institutions located in its consular district which includes: Bahia, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, and Sergipe.
Professionally trained librarians, using electronic and print materials, respond to questions on:
- Economy and Finance
- Democratic Processes
- International Relations
- Environment
- U.S. Government
- U.S. Society
- Bilateral Agreements
