For the convenience of patients, the hospital has a VyStar Federal Credit Union Automatic Teller Machine located on the first floor of the hospital in the stairwell by the outpatient area across from the West elevator .

The Pastoral Care Department provides religious ministry to patients, staff, and their family members. Pastoral care includes visitation to inpatients, pastoral counseling and crisis intervention.
A 24-hour emergency service is available to inpatients by notifying the ward charge nurse. Religious services are held on the second floor in the Hospital Chapel.

Hospital Navy Exchange

First Floor/Hospital

The Navy operates a small gift shop on the first floor of the hospital. They offer greeting cards, small gift items, snacks, books, magazines and other gift shop type items. There is also a laundry and dry cleaning drop off and pick up service at the gift shop.

The primary information desk is located just past the Pharmacy entrance.
The staff members at the information desk can provide only general information about patients. Most medical information on patients is protected by the Privacy Act and can not be released.
The information desk can also provide the phone number of staff members and general hospital information.

Italia D’Oro Coffee Stand

First Floor/Outpatient Clinic

There is an Italia D’Oro coffee stand located across from the Pediatric Clinic in the Outpatient Clinic building. Their large selection of specialty coffees and other beverages are a favorite of patients $ staff.

There is a U.S. Postal Service window located adjacent to the Mail Room. They offer limited services and do not sell stamps. They will accept packages for mailing if the correct postage is on the package. Mail boxes are located at various locations throughout the hospital.
There is a stamp vending machine near the Information Desk in the hospital lobby. Stamps may also be purchased at the Navy Exchange gift shop.

Snack Bar

Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Navy Exchange operates a snack bar at the hospital. The snack bar offers soft drinks, soup, sandwiches, hot dogs etc.

Telephones

Pay telephones are located in the Outpatient Clinic and on the first floor near the hospital lobby.

Inpatients have bedside telephones. For the convenience of hospital patients, a phone card machine is located on the Medical/Surgical Ward and the first floor of the hospital. Phone cards can be purchased to make long distance calls at competitive rates. Inpatients that would like to purchase a phone card should ask ward personnel for assistance.

Command Sponsor

Naval Hospital Jacksonville assigns a sponsor to every person in receipt of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders. The sponsors will be actively involved with the program providing guidance and/ or information to assure a smooth transition into this command.

FAQ

What is an Ombudsman?
The ombudsman is a volunteer, chosen by the Commanding Officer, on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An ombudsman is a spouse of a active duty mernber assigned to the command who serves as the official liaison between the command and its families. The ombudsman assists the CO in maintaining the morale and welfare of the command's active duty service members and its families.

What an Ombudsman does?
The ombudsman acts as an advocate for families and single sailors. We help to disseminate accurate information regarding command policies, services available, and deployments. We are a confidential Point of Contact for families and single sailors and refer them to the appropriate agency for questions, concerns, help, or intervention according to OPNAVINST 1750.1

What an Ombudsman is not?
The ombudsman is not a trained counselor or social worker, but can show you the way to solving your problems or getting assistance.
