This month, Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) celebrates February as National African American History Month. The theme for 2013 is "At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington."
The story of African Americans is a narrative of resilience and perseverance, and their accomplishments are not limited to those recorded and retold in American history. National African American History Month is a celebration that provides an opportunity for all Americans to reflect upon the contributions of millions of African Americans to our Nation.
The Director of Administration and Management (DA&M) is pleased to announce the launch of its new blog, a forum for the DA&M family to engage in discussions with each other. We look forward to beginning these conversations.
But what's missing? A name! Your help is needed to come up with a unique, memorable, and descriptive name for the blog. The DA&M Blog Naming Contest runs from February 4 to February 15 and is open to all DA&M military, civilian, and contract staff. The top three finalists will receive DA&M-inspired mementos! To submit your entries, and to learn more, visit the DA&M Blog.
Do you have an event announcement or update on an organizational initiative that you would like to share on the WHS website?
To submit your office or Directorate's story for publishing, please send an e-mail to information@whs.mil. A member of the WHS Strategic Communications Office will review your story and discuss any suggested edits with you prior to publishing.
Based on user feedback, the "Popular WHS Resources" section of the WHS homepage has been restructured to improve accessibility to information regarding WHS services.
