Goal One

By June 2014, all students will increase performance on targeted Information from Text skills using instructional interventions implemented in all curricular areas as measured by the TN 3 Reading subtest and other System-wide and school based assessments. The targeted skills are to interpret and extend the use of information from the text; to make predictions and generalize ideas to other situations; and to draw conclusions and infer relationships.

Strategy: SQ3R

Goal Two

By June 2014, all students will increase performance on targeted Writing skills using instructional interventions implemented in all curricular areas as measured by the TN 3 Language Arts subtest and other System-wide and school based assessments. The targeted skills are to write a response to literature that demonstrates understanding of the literal meaning of the text, to use the writing process and prewriting techniques, to write for different audiences, and, in a written response, to make connections between text, self, and the world.
