(202) 874-5770 OCC Allows National Bank Offices Affected by Severe Storms in Alabama and Mississippi to CloseWASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today issued a proclamation allowing national bank offices affected by the severe storms in Alabama and Mississippi to close at their discretion. In issuing the proclamation, Senior Deputy Comptroller for Midsize and Community Bank Supervision Jennifer Kelly said she expects that only those bank offices directly affected by the severe storms will close. Those offices should make every effort to reopen as quickly as possible to address the banking needs of their customers, she added.
