2/12/2013 - GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Registration for "Soar into Shape" has begun.

The eight-week long challenge, co-hosted by the Grand Forks Air Force Base's Health and Wellness Center and the Fitness Center, began registration Feb. 11.

The competition, which begins March 4, allows participants to decide whether to lose or maintain weight through a series of events and incentive-based activities ranging from hands-on workout challenges to health-and-wellness classes.

The program also includes healthy lifestyle classes on nutrition, stress and physical activity. 'Soar into Shape' will also feature group exercise classes and bi-weekly weigh-ins with incentives given throughout.

Participants can compete as individuals, or as members of a 3- to 4-person team.
The Soar program also offers a squadron competition, and a traveling trophy will be presented to the squadron with the largest percentage of members who complete the program.

Registration forms are available at the HAWC, the Fitness Center front desk and at the base pharmacy. Registration ends Feb. 26.

For additional information, contact the HAWC at 701-747-5546 or 701-747-3853.
