  1. Hello MOS dudes! Thanks for calling! In a comm pass now, my "pit crew" at @NASA_Ames is doing some housekeeping. Enjoying the attention.
  2. Interested in spotting me in sky (w/ a telescope, I'm about 15th mag), http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/hor..., target body LCROSS Spacecraft
  3. Where am I now? Cruisin' at 0.93km/s(2085mph). 446,500km from Earth. 733,500km from Moon. Have traveled over 3,975,000km since launch.
  4. For new followers, catch up on latest mission news, and how to get involved, at http://ub0.cc/21/0Z and a countdown clock. 62 days to go!
  5. Cruisin' at 0.96km/s (2149mph). 434,500km from Earth. 725,500km from Moon. Fun pass today. "The radio reminds me of my home far away."
  6. Omni pitch flip completed. My team is collecting my telemetry playback and then it's back to cruisin' for me! Next pass short HK one tmrw.
  7. MOS dudes collecting data from my subsystems. Nav is updating my orbit since skipped TCM5b (burn maneuvr), didn't need it to stay on target.
  8. Also, now that we are in orbit2 of 3 orbits about earth, each orbit is slightly different, so trajectory (esp. our final one) needs updating
  9. Peeps been asking, why we need to do a pitch flip? Well, we do this periodically to orientate our better omni antennae of two towards earth.
  10. Comm pass start in 1 hr. Today is Omni Pitch Flip Day returning me to my Pitch 0 orientation. Has been fun being upside down for ~2 weeks.
  11. Day 49. Impact in 63 days. Where am I now? Cruisin' at 0.98km/s(2201mph). 425,000km from Earth. 722,000km from Moon. http://ub0.cc/3Y/ff
  12. Yessiree, peeps have observed I'm slowing down, this is true,it's natural consequence of my slightly non-circular orbit around earth (e=0.2)
  13. Cruisin' at 0.99km/s(2236mph). 419,000km from Earth. 720,700km from Moon. "We skipped a light fandango, Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor."
  14. Where am I now? Cruisin' at 1.01km/s(2266mph). 413,000km from Earth. 720,000km from Moon. Mission Day 48. 64 days to impact.
  15. Correction: Earth in 4 colors, preliminary spectra as viewed from 360,000km away (w/correct image rotation wrt NEP) at http://ub0.cc/bd/bL
  16. Where am I now? Cruisin' at 1.03km/s(2297mph). 407,500km from Earth. 720,300km from Moon. Odometer: 3,777,200km traveled since launch.
  17. In prep for omni pitch flip, the team is working a planned avoidance of Jupiter. It's too bright for the star tracker, best to be avoided.
  18. My ops team is preparing for an omni pitch flip on Thurs to put me back to Pitch 0 orientation. Last time I flipped 180 degrees was Jul 16.
  19. @BadAstronomer working it, 1cam did not go into its programmed mode 2make composite img easy, we're repeating the exercise 3x, next aug 16
  20. Cruisin' at 1.05km/s(2359mph). 396,700km from Earth. 722,000km from Moon. Have traveled 3,720,000km since launch. 65.5 days to impact.
