  1. Kabul City: The Afghan Security Forces will conduct city-wide emergency reaction exercises in Kabul starting at 8:00pm. The exercise is expected to include simulated attacks. All travel by Chief of Mission personnel will be restricted during the exercises. (January 27, 2013)

  5. Herat City: There are ongoing protests at the Herat Stadium and other locations in Herat City today, January 3, 2013. While all reports indicate the crowd is peaceful, there is a large concentration of pedestrian and vehicle movement in the area, which will increase as the protest disperses.   31. Herat City: Due to security reports of an IED explosion today, American citizens are urged to avoid travel movements in the downtown Herat area in the vicinity of the Blue Mosque. (August 15, 2012)
  32. Mazar-E-Sharif City: Due to reports of an IED explosion this morning at Police District HQ 2S near the "Northern Bypass" road to Balkh District, all Chief of Mission Personnel are advised to avoid this area until further notice. (August 14, 2012)
  33. Balkh Province: Chief of Mission are under restricted travel in
    Mazar-e-Sharif and the rest of the Province until 1300 today. (August 9, 2012)
  34. Parwan Province: Reports indicate a VBIED exploded at FOB Shank earlier this morning. Casualty reports are still being tallied. American citizens should avoid travel to the area if at all possible, and exercise extreme caution if unavoidably traveling there today. (August 7, 2012)

  40. Kabul City: Due to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Shar-I Naw Park, American citizens are urged to exercise caution if traveling in the area. (July 11, 2012)
  41. Kabul City: There is a large, on-going fuel fire on Jalalabad Road in vicinity of Camp Warehouse. There are unconfirmed reports of multiple explosions.   111. Herat - Due to a recent increase in threat information, U.S.
    Consulate Herat is reviewing its security posture to include movement security.  At this time, all requests for movement in the approved self-drive area of Herat City are being reviewed by Consulate Management.  Approved vehicle movements will require a minimum of two people in the vehicle.  This increased security posture will remain in place until further notice. Essential travel must be conducted in military convoys, travel plans must be cleared through Phil Russell; Patti Buckles and Kory Turnbow must be notified prior to traveling.  This notice only affects the self-drive area around KAF, and does not affect air travel or movement in Kandahar City, Zabul or Uruzgan.
