SORD (Soldier Oriented Research & Development) Mission

The SORD mission is to provide Research and Development that benefits the soldier within his natural environment.

The U.S. Army's SORD Program (Soldier Oriented Research & Development) is designed to provide the scientific and technological edge necessary to ensure that the Army can serve the needs of it's soldier and their missions. This is accomplished through the use of Seven Key Research Principles to: RECRUIT, SELECT, ASSIGN, TRAIN, LEAD, DEVELOP and SUSTAIN soldiers and missions in an optimal fashion.
