Why do all members have to be approved?

Additionally, we approve members to ensure that only alumni and current participants of U.S. government exchanges can gain access to the membership benefits offered through the website.

+

I’ve waited 10 business days and my site membership still hasn’t been approved. What’s going on?

Incomplete or inaccurate registration information can delay the approval process. If you think you submitted incomplete or inaccurate information, please contact us to correct the error.

Additionally, if you belong to a program that has not yet begun or that has only recently begun, your membership may require additional time to approve as our records may not yet have been updated.

If you’ve waited more than 10 business days and still have not been approved, you can help us speed the process by emailing us a copy of an exchange program invitation letter of certificate of program completion. This will provide the necessary proof to verify that you are, in fact, a current or former exchange program participant so that we can approve your membership to International Exchange Alumni.

+

What should I do if I entered incorrect information during the registration process?

If any of the information you provided when you registered is incomplete or inaccurate, the approval of your membership could be delayed. Please contact us if you need to update any of your information.

Some common mistakes made when registering to become a member of the website include:

  • Using a nickname when registering,
  • Selecting the wrong program,
  • Not including your maiden name or the name you used during your program,
  • Spelling your name differently than what was used during your program/than what is on your passport,
