The United States Consulate General in Krakow represents American interests in southern Poland. Its consular district covers the provinces of dolnośląskie, opolskie, śląskie, małopolskie, podkarpackie and świętokrzyskie. Polish and American citizens living in these areas receive most U.S. government services from the Consulate rather than the Embassy in Warsaw.

The Consulate provides a wide range of consular services to Polish and American citizens.

Consulate Sections

The American Citizen Services section provides services and information to American citizens, such as emergency assistance, passport services, notarizations, reports of birth of American citizens abroad, among others.

The Non-Immigrant Visa section serves Polish citizens who are seeking visas for temporary visits to the United States. Permanent immigration visas are handled only at the Embassy in Warsaw.

Media inquiries should be directed to the Public Affairs Section. This section also runs the American Information Resource Center and the Education Information Center.
