Charles Luoma-Overstreet Biography

Charles Luoma-Overstreet- Consul General, Warsaw, PL

Charles Luoma-Overstreet is a native of San Diego, California and a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Foreign Service.  He is currently serving as the Consul General at the American Embassy in Warsaw, Poland.  Mr. Luoma-Overstreet came to Warsaw following two years in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs as the Bureau Press Advisor and Media Spokesperson.  He was previously at the National Defense University in Washington DC following assignments as the Country Consular Coordinator in Johannesburg South Africa and Deputy Chief of Mission in Cotonou, Bénin.  Other postings include Mérida, Yucatán (Mexico); the Office of West African Affairs in Washington; Managua, Nicaragua; Suva, Fiji and Tijuana, Mexico.  He has lived and studied in Lomé, Togo and Bordeaux, France.  Mr. Luoma-Overstreet previously worked for the University of California, San Diego as an Assistant Resident Dean.

Charles enjoys scuba diving, hiking, cycling, cooking and reading.  He is married and the proud father of three children.
