U.S. Citizen Services
American Citizen Services (ACS) is a principal part of the work for the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia. Assistance provided to American citizens residing in or visiting Liberia includes, but is not limited to, passport services, Consular Reports of Births Abroad (CRBA), notarials and assistance with American public services, such as Social Security and overseas voting. The Embassy also assists in emergency situations, including deaths, arrests and other crisis situations.
The Consular Section's dedicated ACS hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Due to Embassy financial regulations, the Consular Cashier closes Monday through Thursday at 3:45 p.m. The Consular Section can only accept payments in emergency situations after this time. Please note that the section is closed on all official United States and Liberian holidays.
Citizens with more critical needs, such as those who have been victims of crime, are welcome at any time during regular business hours.
For after-hours emergency assistance, please call (+231) 777-677-7000.
