U.S. Consul General Sarah Craddock Morrison

Sarah Morrison arrived in Florence as Consul General in October, 2011.

Her prior postings include Rome, Milan, Buenos Aires, Monrovia (Liberia), Washington, Malabo (Equatorial Guinea, where she served as Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. and Deputy Chief of Mission), Mbabane (Swaziland, where she served as Deputy Chief of Mission), and most recently Kabul, Afghanistan, where she served as Deputy Director of Strategic Communications in Public Affairs.

A native of Maryland, she holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and a Masters of Social Work and Policy Planning from Tulane University in New Orleans.  Ms. Morrison subsequently held several positions in Louisiana, rising from child protection caseworker to Director of the Office of Management and Program Evaluation in the Office of the Governor of Louisiana.  She then served two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, which introduced her to the Foreign Service and led to her change of career.  Ms. Morrison worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development before taking the Foreign Service exam and entering the former U.S. Information Agency class of 1990.
