Public Services - Notarials

Consular Officers perform notary services customarily provided by Notaries Public in the U.S. Persons requiring such services should visit the Consular Section during regular office hours. Please note that a consular officer cannot witness a will. Note also that a consular officer cannot certify that documents are valid or that statements made are true. He or she can attest only to the oath taken by the person making the statements or presenting the documents.

Please Bring The Following Items When You Come For A Notarization:

  • Have government-issued photo ID. A passport is best.
  • You must understand your document, as we are not allowed to explain the contents to you.
  • You must have filled-in the document with the appropriate names, places and dates (but don't sign it; you'll sign it at the Consulate in front of the notary).
  • You must pay the fee (see below). We accept only cash, US$ or Pakistani Rupees. We cannot accept checks and credit cards.
  • If your document requires witnesses in addition to the notary, you must supply these witnesses. Our staff cannot serve as witnesses.
