Welcome to the Immigrant Visa Unit at Embassy Amman

NOTICE: Beginning February 1, 2013, USCIS will collect a $165.00
Immigrant Visa DHS Domestic Processing Fee (USCIS Immigrant
Fee) from applicants who have been issued Immigrant Visas
(IVs) or Diversity Visas (DVs).

USCIS is implementing this fee to recover costs associated with processing, filing, and maintaining the IV packet.  The only exemptions to this fee are children adopted under the Orphan (IR-3s/IR-4s) or Hague Processes (IH-3s/IH-4s), Iraqi or Afghan special immigrants who were employed by the U.S. Government, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas.    More information can be found on the USCIS website.

You may qualify to immigrate to the United States if you are:

  • A spouse or immediate relative of an American citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • The fiancé of an American citizen.
  • A prospective employee of a United States company.
  • Selected through the Diversity Visa (DV) lottery program.

All prospective immigrants except for DV candidates must have a petition filed on their behalf. The “petitioner” is the person or company who files the petition, and the “beneficiary” is the prospective immigrant.

All petitions may be filed in the United States. Please vist the USCIS website for more information.
