    Ambassador Warlick visited the Viminacium archeological site and the city of Pozarevac on August 17. She began the day with a three-hour tour of the ancient Roman provincial capital with Dr. Miomir Korac, Viminacium Project Director.

    Ambassador Warlick, accompanied by Macedonian Ambassador Ljubisa Georgievski, Bulgarian Ambassador Georgi Dimitrov, Australian Ambassador Helena Gay Studdert, Albanian Ambassador Shpetim Caushi, and OSCE Ambassador Dimitrios Kypreos, visited "South Base" near Bujanovac.

    On May 16 Ambassador Mary Warlick paid her first visit to the city of Sremska Mitrovica in northwestern Serbia. Her first meeting was with Mayor Branislav Nedimović at the city hall, where they discussed U.S. Embassy activities in the city, including several USAID programs, and the mayor’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment and further develop the region.

    While in Indjija, Ambassador Warlick met with Mayor Goran Jesic and city officials to learn more about Indjija’s successful strategy for attracting foreign direct investment projects. She also visited two such examples of foreign investment in Indjija.

    Topping Out of the New Embassy Compound

    On May 11, 2011 the U.S. Embassy and Framaco International marked the second milestone in the construction of the New Embassy in Dedinje, the topping out. The first milestone was the Groundbreaking ceremony at the site on February 10, 2010. The topping out celebrates the completion of the highest level of construction at the site.

    Secretary Clinton paid her first official visit to Belgrade on October 12 and 13, meeting with President Boris Tadic, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic and Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac. In the evening she met with several representatives of Serbian civil society to discuss accomplishments over the past decade and issues of continued interest to these organizations.
