The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the American Embassy works in coordination with Peruvian institutions to protect and promote Peru’s cultural patrimony. Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.

(MOU) for the protection of cultural patrimony, recently renewed between our countries with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, PAS coordinates, produces and sponsors a series of activities, characterized by their multiplying effect in the population.

Among the most important activities are the return of objects from the cultural patrimony accounted for in the MOU, the Preventive Conservation Course for Peruvian museum personnel, IPAM exchange program for cooperation among American and Peruvian museums, donations through the Ambassadors Fund and video conferences with American experts. Additionally, and following established INC norms, PAS provides assistance for Peruvian art exhibitions in the United States, contributing to promote the image of Peru abroad through the splendor of its art.
