Joining 6th Special Operations Squadron

The 6th SOS is the Air Force's only combat aviation advisory organization. The squadron mission includes assessing, training, advising, and assisting foreign aviation combat and combat support units in aircraft maintenance, logistics, air base ground defense, command and control, aeromedical support, personal survival, personnel recovery and other functions supporting combat air operations.

Minimum Requirements

Mimimum requirements for military members wishing to apply for the 6th Special Operations Squadron are:

Aircrew must be qualified instructors
Enlisted personnel must be 7-level qualified noncommissioned officers
Must have a current PT test with a passing score.
Must take the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB)
