Biography

Sally Bourrie is Lead Associate with Phase One Consulting Group and joined Data.gov in 2010 to support outreach and communications. After a break in 2011, she rejoined Data.gov in the same capacity in 2012. She is a main contributor to the Data.gov blog. Sally helped organize both the historic first International Open Government Data Conference in 2010 and the second conference in partnership with the World Bank in 2012. She also coordinated Data.gov's participation in the United States Science and Engineering Festival (USASEF) in support of the President's STEM education priorities. Data.gov reached approximately 5,000 people with its first USASEF booth on the National Mall. She comes to Data.gov with experience in communications at multiple Federal agencies, along with managing the University of Virginia's "Arts & Sciences" magazine and other publications. Her articles have appeared in most major newspapers, including "The Boston Globe," "Chicago Tribune," "The New York Times" and "The Washington Times." She contributed more than 1,200 entries to the J. Paul Getty Museum website.
