~ About Hacking for Hunger ~

Hacking for Hunger, USAID’s first hackathon, is a core component of the Food Security Open Data Challenge. Team leads, technologists, food security specialists and stakeholders, expert advisors, and others will come together in person and online September 14-16 developing new applications that will unite data in powerful new ways to battle hiunger worldwide.

Hackathon participants will contribute to Challenge Teams on projects addressing major food security challenges in developing countries. A number of Challenge Teams are already underway, addressing questions defined at earlier Ideation Jams.

Teams are continuing to seek subject matter and technology experts as well as volunteers with no technical skill- just the desire to help! And there is still plenty of room for new Challenge Teams to form, either to tackle identified questions that are not yet being addressed or to ask and address their own questions.
