Environmental
Compliance and Safety Committee (ECS)
Industrial
Hygiene Team
The NOAA ECS Industrial Hygiene Team was established
in 2007, by the NOAA ECS Committee to primarily address the Logistics
Management Institute (LMI) recommendation for an Industrial Hygiene Program
in NOAA. It is designed to serve as a directed forum for the identification
and discussion of key programmatic and technical Industrial Hygiene concerns
within NOAA. The main objectives of the Industrial Hygiene Team are to:
- Focus NOAA resources efficiently and effectively
on programmatic and technical Industrial Hygiene concerns to prevent
occupational health related illnesses, injuries, or death.
- Characterize occupational health exposures to target
medical surveillance efforts and treatment modalities by in-house health
care providers.
- Investigate adverse health effects and medical
findings to prevent further or future illness, injury or death.
