tabLeadership Message
SAF/FM Jamie M. MorinOur mission as Air Force financial managers is to serve with integrity as commanders' trusted advisor on all financial matters by providing high-quality support to decision makers. We earn this trust by providing the right information and analysis where it matters - from squadron level to the Pentagon, in operational wings and program offices and everywhere in between. We also owe a sacred duty to the American people, whose taxes pay for all we do - and whose sons and daughters may live or die based on the decisions we make.

In order to provide our best possible advice, Air Force financial managers have a responsibility to hone their skills throughout their careers and to embrace a culture of continuous improvement. This responsibility takes on increased significance as we are asked to provide analysis and recommendations to commanders on how to maximize available funding to achieve the greatest impact for the warfighter.

A well-developed and trained workforce will also help increase the effectiveness of our efforts to improve Air Force cost estimating. This is a critical part of the Department's commitment to improving defense acquisition processes. Our efforts will allow the Air Force to pursue new weapon systems with confidence, knowing we have the best possible understanding of how they can be funded within projected future resources.

Everything we do in FM needs to focus on helping America's Airmen get their jobs done. We need to continue to work to streamline Airmen's interaction with FM and offer them consistent and improving performance.

I am grateful for the efforts of the entire Air Force financial management community and look forward to continuing our efforts to "finance the fight."

tabSAF/FM Mission
SAF/FM

The Air Force Financial Management (FM) strategy flows directly from its mission and core values. The mission statement clearly articulates the overarching reason for existence and FM's role within the larger Air Force. Air Force FM is comprised of a cadre of professionals whose mission is:

"Serve with integrity as the commander's trusted advisor by providing high-quality support to decision makers on budgetary, financial, cost and economic issues while continuously improving the quality, efficiency and customer-focus of Air Force financial services and operations."
tabSAF/FM Vision
The Financial Management Vision discusses the future state that the Air Force Financial Management community should strive to achieve through strategic and transformational efforts. It frames the future and evolving present-day where FM is assuming its enhanced role as a key strategic partner in Air Force decisionmaking. The Financial Management Vision can be summarized as follows to reflect the development of the FM community:

"Maximize the combat effectiveness achieved with each dollar of taxpayer resources through continuous improvement in resource allocation, analysis, financial services, and execution."
