Posting Information about Regulations
What It Is
Every organization that issues regulations should provide information about those regulations on its website and link to the Regulations.gov portal. This is a best practice for managing your agency’s website.
Why It's Important
The President's Management Agenda makes it a priority to inform the public about pending regulations and provide them an opportunity to be involved in rulemaking. It helps citizens to be more involved in their government.
How to Implement
Use the examples below to help you implement this best practice.
Examples
- Laws and Regulations - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- Regulations and Policies - USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service
- Tax Code, Regulations and Guidance - IRS
Many agencies follow this best practice, which is part of the guidelines and best practices published by the Interagency Committee on Government Information to aid agencies' implementation of OMB's Policies for Federal Public Websites.
