The S400h is a mild hybrid system, which uses one of the first OEM Lithium-Ion battery packs available, and is packaged under the hood. Another unique attribute to the vehicle is the electric motor of the S400h is mounted in the location of the engine flywheel, and thus spins directly at engine speed.
