94TH AAMDC DONATES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO LINAPUNI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

HonoluluSoldiers from the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command donated school supplies to the Linapuni Elementary School on Feb. 1, 2013.

The donations were given to help re-supply the school with much needed items that are required throughout the school year.


“We are very grateful for the donations from the 94th AAMDC,” said Mrs. Susan Kondo, the parent community networking facilitator at Linapuni Elementary School and a Honolulu native. “We have children here that live in poverty, come to school without school supplies and are less fortunate than other kids that have parents that work, so the school has to supplement them.”

OKINAWA, JAPAN - The maintenance leadership certification was a 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery effort aimed at getting back to the basics on all things maintenance.
The certification started out by opening remarks from the Battalion Executive Officer, Maj. Joseph Westerman, who stressed the importance of proper maintenance.

The Implications of Being Forward-Stationed

OKINAWA, JAPAN - 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery (1-1 ADA), located in Okinawa, Japan, has been a forward-stationed Patriot Battalion since late 2006. Being forward-stationed has allowed the Soldiers and Officers of the battalion many unique opportunities and skill-sets their CONUS counterparts are not introduced to.
The battalion is leading the Fires world through joint and bilateral operations in the Pacific region. Furthermore, the existence of real Air and Missile Defense (AMD) threats in the region mandates a higher operations tempo (OPTEMPO) as well as a more intense dedication to maintenance.
