Spouse Information Meetings

Spouse Information Meetings, or SIMs, are held in both the north and south regions on a monthly basis. USAG-HI's DFMWR also publishes calendars that are presented at the SIMs: Discovery Magazine and DFMWR Briefs in the Hawaii Army Weekly.

North Region

SIMs North meetings support units and activities located throughout northern Oahu to include the 25th Infantry Division (25th ID), 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8th TSC), 45th Sustainment Brigade, 8th Military Police Brigade, 500th Military Intelligence Brigade, 307th Integrated Theater Signal Battalion, and other tenant units.

The focus of these meetings is on installation and community matters.  SIMs North meetings are conducted on the first Monday of every month, 10-11 a.m., at the Nehelani Club, Schofield Barracks. If Monday is a training/federal holiday, the North SIM will be rescheduled on the first Tuesday of the month.

The primary responsibility for conducting SIMs North meetings rests with the USAG-HI commander and staff to develop the agenda of installation-wide and community-wide topics of interest and concern; with assistance from 25th ID to coordinate and schedule meetings and notify attendees of their date, time, and location; and arrange for room set-up, seating, audio-visual support, and equipment operation.

The USAG-HI commander and/or the Installation Coordinator attends as the senior garrison representative, and supports the meetings with subject-matter experts as needed.

South Region

SIMs South meetings support all Oahu South units to include the 8th TSC, U.S. Army-Pacific (USARPAC), 311th Signal Command, 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC), Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), 196th Infantry Brigade, and 9th Mission Support Command (MSC).

As with SIMs North, the focus of SIMs South meetings is on installation and community matters, and they too will be executed on a monthly basis on the first Wednesday of each month,  9-10 a.m., at the Hale Ikena, Fort Shafter.

The primary responsibility for conducting SIMs South meetings rests with the USAG-HI commander and staff to develop the agenda of installation-wide and community-wide topics of interest and concern; with assistance from 8th TSC to coordinate and schedule meetings and notify attendees of their date, time, and location; and arrange for room set-up, seating, audio-visual support, and equipment operation.
