Instructions for Applying for Services at U.S. Embassy Kabul

  1. All clients must make an appointment through the online Appointment System for services in the ACS Unit. Appointments are available Sunday through Thursday, except for U.S. and Afghan holidays. You must print your appointment confirmation and bring it and a form of government-issued photo identification with you to your appointment.
  2. Please read the specific instructions for passports, reports of birth abroad, or notary services and complete the necessary forms, gather any required documents, and make an appointment.
  3. The ACS Unit only accepts payments made in cash in U.S. dollars. Notes that are damaged or issued before 1996 will not be accepted.
  4. The ACS Unit does not take passport photos. Embassy staff can contact GSO Travel for assistance.
  5. Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. The U.S. Embassy is located at Great Massoud Road between Radio Afghanistan and the Ministry of Public Health in Kabul. Visitors must pass through the south checkpoint called “Yankee One”. You will then be directed to the Consular Section entrance (also called the Service CAC or CAC Two) for security screening. Large bags, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are not allowed in the Embassy.
