It’s NOW time to take get your seasonal flu vaccine. Flu season can run from early October through late May. Every flu season is different because the viruses change. That is why Kenner recommends getting your annual influenza vaccination. Getting immunized provides the best protection against influenza infection. Flu vaccines are now available at Kenner Army Health Clinic.
v Active Duty beneficiaries should contact their S3 for unit flu clinic dates and times.
v Beneficiaries 18 and over (non-active duty) may walk into the Immunization Clinic between the hours of 0715- 1730, Monday thru Friday to receive a flu vaccine.
v For pediatric beneficiaries ages 6 months and older, walk-in hours are available in the Pediatric Clinic from 0900-1100 every morning and 1330-1630 every afternoon, except on Thursday. There are no walk-in immunizations on Thursday afternoons or daily 1200-1300 during lunch hour.
v Beneficiaries interested in getting a flu vaccine while they are already at the clinic for an appointment should ask their health care provider so that they may receive the vaccine before leaving the clinic.
v Beneficiaries without a clinic appointment may go directly to the immunization clinic as a walk-in to receive their flu vaccine.
v For DoD Federal employees, the Occupational Health Clinic, located on the 2nd floor of the Kenner Army Health Clinic will be offering flu vaccines every Tuesday starting 2 October 2012 from 0900-1100. A CAC card must be presented to receive the flu vaccine. Please call the Occupational Health Clinic at 734-9159 for all questions and/or concerns.
