3nd Annual Peer to Peer Video Contest Winners!

For the third year in a row, amateur filmmakers from across the Army have put their talents to the test as part of the USACR/Safety Center's annual Peer to Peer video competition. The results are in, and the winners of this year's contest are:

First place: "Safety Strong," 187th Medical Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Through a series of short but pointed vignettes — each reinforcing an important safety principle — this video shows safety is everybody's business and no one is above the standard.

Second place: "Distracted Driving is Drunk Driving," Headquarters, Department of the Army, G3/5/7, Comprehensive Soldier. In less than 60 seconds, this video uses a clever combination of live action and animation to demonstrate the often disastrous consequences of multitasking behind the wheel.

Third place: "POV Safety," 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. This video provides a first-person account of one Soldier's near-fatal privately owned vehicle accident, which was attributed to a combination of fatigue, inexperience and hazardous road conditions.

The winners will receive certificates and "Safety Emmy" trophies from the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center and cash prizes from Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers to benefit their garrison BOSS chapters. The annual Peer to Peer video competition is produced jointly by the USACR/Safety Center and BOSS.

Congratulations to all the winners!
