Registration

All Americans residing in or visiting the Republic of the Congo are urged to register at the Embassy. Registration is important in order that we might best serve your needs, particularly in the event of an emergency. Your registration file provides a permanent record of citizenship that would allow us to quickly replace your passport should it become lost or stolen. In the event of a medical or other emergency, the U.S. contact information you provide could save valuable time connecting you with the people and resources you might need.

Online Registration

The Department of State’s secure Internet-based travel registration site allows you to register and update your contact information on the Internet at any time, making it easier for you to keep your information current. The site also provides up-to-date travel information. The data you provide is secured behind Department of State firewalls, accessed only by cleared personnel in Embassies, Consulates and the Department of State, and releasable only under the provisions of the Privacy Act. We invite you to register yourself and your traveling party. If you are already registered with this Embassy, please reregister online to update your records. Online registration can be reached at https://travelregistration.state.gov

In-Person Registration

If you do not register online, then as soon as possible after arrival in the Republic of the Congo, Americans should visit our Brazzaville offices in person to fill out a registration form. Please click here for our location, office hours and contact information. You will need to bring your U.S. passport with you. We also recommend that you bring contact information for a friend or relative in the United States whom you would want notified in the event of an emergency. If you registered more than two years ago, or if your local contact information has changed, we encourage you to visit again to update your registration file.

The information you provide in your registration is protected from disclosure under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. No information on an individual will be released without the specific authorization of that person.
