The Information Resource Center (IRC) was created in 1975 to provide information on current U.S. policy, legislation, trade, social and cultural issues. It maintains a research center which includes electronic resources and a collection of approximately 600 volumes. Most materials are reference items and include government documents and publications. Fifty periodicals are received in hard copy. Its main objective is to promote a better understanding of American society, values and policies.

The IRC supports research related to the United States in the fields of international relations, trade, economics, the environment, as well as in the areas of U.S. political and social processes, and U.S. – Peru bilateral relations. Researchers, Members of the Peruvian Congress and their staffs, government departments, journalists, and university faculty are regular users.

The Reference Service Center hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 noon and 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Visits can be arranged by appointment.
