Message from the Ambassador

Ambassador Rose M. Likins

The Peruvian economy has grown close to seven percent per year for the past decade, one of the fastest growth rates in the world. Peru is expected to continue this world-class performance this year and next, with growth at or above six percent annually.

The Peruvian government is committed to inclusive growth through open trade and investment. It has created an expansive worldwide network of Free Trade Agreements, and embarked on an ambitious drive to attract $10 billion worth of Public-Private Partnerships in infrastructure over the next two years. These projects provide opportunities in engineering, construction, power generation, and many other areas.

The state-of-the-art U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement in effect since 2009 levels the playing field and creates opportunities to grow our $15 billion trade relationship, as Peru's expanding middle class generates higher demand for foreign-made goods and services in everything from food products to electronics.

Thank you for visiting U.S. Embassy Lima's Doing Business in Peru website.
