The Media Unit

The Media Unit organizes a broad range of informational programs, coordinates press events for Embassy personnel and visiting USG officials, issues press releases on USG policy and Embassy activities, and distributes a wide range of materials describing and explaining USG policy.  The Media Unit also operates the Information Resource Center, a sophisticated research and information service, and manages the Embassy’s official website and social media accounts. 

The Embassy’s official website is the gateway to Embassy news and events, press releases, as well as official speeches and remarks.  The website also provides information on USG policy, U.S. education and culture, and U.S-Thai relations.  In addition, the Embassy’s website contains information about consular services for American citizens as well as detailed information about U.S. visas.   The website is in Thai and English. 

Our Facebook page is the Embassy’s primary social media channel.  The Embassy’s Facebook page is an interactive, informal way, to communicate with Thai audiences.  It provides information on USG policy, upcoming events and activities, as well as U.S. culture and society through multimedia platforms.  Join us at http://www.facebook.com/usembassybkk.

The Media Unit’s Speaker Program provides an opportunity for American officials to speak and exchange views on a wide range of media related topics with Thai audiences, including journalists and students.
