U.S. Scholarship Opportunity for UAE College Students

The U.S. Department of State will award scholarships to outstanding students to study for a one year, non-degree undergraduate program in the United States at a diverse network of accredited two and four year universities. The application deadline is January 10, 2010.

This section provides an overview of the cultural activities, educational advising, and current exchange programs supported by the Public Affairs Sections of the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai and the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Educational and Cultural Exchanges

Through educational and cultural programs, we encourage the sharing of ideas between Emiratis and Americans on a wide variety of topics.

Exchange programs have an impact on a person’s life that extends far beyond the time actually spent abroad. Exchanges affect not only individual participants, but also those who get to know them while in the United States and those back home in the United Arab Emirates who hear about their experiences once they return.

People-to-people exchanges between Emiratis and Americans benefit both countries by improving our ability to understand each other and by enabling us to compare and share approaches to common issues.

Cultural Programs

We work with a wide range of Emirati and American public and private organizations to encourage broader understanding of the United States and its relationship with the United Arab Emirates through cultural activities and exchanges.
