“NESA UGRAD” program for study in the U.S. 2013-2014
 

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships as part of the “NESA UGRAD” program for study in the U.S. 2013-2014

Purpose:

The “NESA UGRAD” program is an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to study in the U.S. for one academic year in a non-degree program.  The program will provide selected students with in-depth exposure to U.S. society, culture and academic life by engaging in substantive exchange programs, internship opportunities and community service at U.S colleges and universities. 

Program sponsors and benefits:

The “NESA UGRAD” program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Selected candidates will have their international airfare, tuition and fees covered.

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate students in any academic field of study;
  • Demonstrated academic excellence, cross-cultural interest and leadership potential;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English as demonstrated by a 550 ITP score.

Application & required documents:

  • Complete the  application for the 2013-2014 “NESA UGRAD” program;
  • Personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Copies of all university transcripts
  • Two passport-size photos 
  • Copy of your passport or ID;
  • Proof of being an active member in an educational, cultural or social association.

* The TOEFL/ITP score will not be requested for this primary phase of the selection process.

Deadline:

  • All applications must be submitted before February 28, 2013. Applications received after this deadline will NOT be reviewed.
