Martin Luther King Cultural Center
The Martin Luther King (MLK) Cultural Center at the Embassy of the United States of America is responsible for providing information about the United States, including policies, society, history, culture, and values.
The MLK Center hosts a wide array of events to exchange ideas and information with Central African audiences, such as seminars, workshops, panel discussions, exhibits, cultural offerings, and book and speaker programs. Topics so far have included: American experiences, American government and history, African American History Month, education, security, music, women's equality, and a wide variety of other topics.
The MLK Center is also home to our Library, English Language Program, Saturday Morning English Club from 10am to 12pm, and Friday Evening Movie Series at 5pm. The library contains computer terminals, an audiovisual conference room, and offers over 1,000 books in English and French, 60 magazines and journals, and daily newspapers.
